BerriBlue is a Polish-Irish visual artist currently based in Warsaw. She specializes in painting and the unique art of azulejos – paintings made of glazed ceramic tiles, which are a traditional element of Portuguese visual culture. Azulejos adorn the facades of buildings and public spaces, combining decorative aesthetics with narrative elements embedded in ceramics.
BerriBlue lived in Porto for eight years, where she mastered the azulejo painting technique and developed her own style, which combines Portuguese tradition with Eastern European aesthetics and Irish sensibility. Her works explore the themes of emigration, identity and the interaction of cultures.
The artist’s works have been presented at international exhibitions, including the Florence Biennale in Italy and in Vietri sul Mare on the Amalfi Coast, as well as at numerous solo exhibitions. BerriBlue works within the street art movement and her ceramic azulejos paintings can be found in public spaces across Europe, from Lisbon to Warsaw, as well as in private collections worldwide. BerriBlue combines personal experiences with the rich symbolism and folklore of the countries she has lived in, creating works that tell unique stories and build bridges between cultures.
