This unique project is made up of Polish and German artists who deal daily with the musical traditions of their native countries and regions: they play to dance, teach, research and perform traditional singing and instrumental music. They realize concerts, shows, workshops, and animate the culture of local communities.
The group's dream is to restore the traditional music of Pomerania to living practice, in a broad geographical, historical and cultural context, on both sides of the old and modern Polish-German border.
The difficult history of the region is the inspiration for our work together - our Polish and German ancestors experienced war and displacement, and along with them wandered the music and memory from which we draw.
We look at pre-war sources, archival materials, and musical notations from today's West Pomerania on the Polish side and Vorpommern, located on the German side. We also listen to melodies and songs brought to Pomerania by post-war settlers from various regions of Poland.
We benefit from the experience of learning from rural masters and continuators of tradition, we look for a common language of interpretation, we exchange knowledge and experience.
We derive great joy and satisfaction from telling stories through music.
