Ethniesy's Library

Julia Stachiwska is a Ukrainian female poet and illustrator. She was born in Zhytomyr, she lives in Bucza near Kiev. She studied Ukrainian philology at the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. Female author of two poetry books: Czerwoni czołowiczky (2009) and Verde (2015). She worked as an artistic manager in the Je bookstore network and program coordinator at the Czech Center in Kiev. She illustrated a book for children of the Belarusian poet Andrej Chadanowicz, Tatk notes, she also creates book covers and original postcards. She translated poems by Czesław Miłosz as part of the translation project Miłosz pidkazanyj. In 2010, she was a scholarship holder of the International Writer and Translator's House in Windawa, Latvia. In Poland, a selection of her poems appeared in the magazines Radar, Pobocze, Res Publica Nowa and Wakat and in the online editions: Dwutygodnik and Babiniec Literacki (translated by Aneta Kamińska). They also appeared in anthologies: 30 poems from abroad. Young Ukrainian poetry (2012), Portrait of a woman in an inverted perspective. 12 poets from the Czech Republic, Slovenia and Ukraine (2013) and Letters from Ukraine (2016). Her texts also took part in the Poems in Metro campaign. She performed several times in Poland, including during the festivals: Roadside in Więcbork and Bydgoszcz, Ukrainian Spring in Poznań, Multilingual in Warsaw.

Szymon Żuchowski is a poet, translator and classical music critic. Permanent collaborator of the Hearing department and editor of the poem column Wierszoptykon in Liberal Culture, editor of the English-language scientific journal Polish Libraries (National Library) and co-contributor of the opera magazine Studiokrytyka. He published two poetry volumes: Ars amandi, vita brevis (2014) and Episode split  (2016, the final of the Orpheus Poetry Award).
